    Family Friendly Team

We believe our staff to be some of the best in the country and it is their passion, positive attitudes, dedication and commitment to rising to the on-going challenges and changes within the early years sector that continues to enable us to deliver and uphold our childcare and education philosophy.

    Parents’ Comments

“The hard work and dedication of Karen and her wonderful team makes Kiddlywinks an exceptional and exemplary safe haven for our two children. Our girls have so much fun in the stimulating and vibrant environment that they don’t realise how much they are learning and developing. The nursery team are incredibly flexible. Nothing is too much trouble when it comes to the demands of a busy working family. We feel so fortunate to have the extended family of Kiddlywinks!” Vanessa and Chris.

“Attention to detail, friendliness and professionalism of staff exude warmth, enthusiasm and devoted care to the children. I feel 100% confidant to leave my daughters in their care, and they both love the nursery.”

“Kiddlywinks provides a wonderfully, happy, safe and fun environment. All the staff are very much involved in helping Alice to develop her communication and social skills whilst still allowing her to maintain her independence. It still amazes me how much Alice has achieved in two mornings at Kiddlywinks. They ensure that whether a child is there all week or just two morning their experience is equally fulfilling.” Kath.

“The indoor and outdoor learning environment are truly amazing and it seems that no expense is spared in constantly updating and improving them. However what is more important to me and my husband is the quality of care that our little boy receives whilst at Kiddlywinks. Karen and all the nursery team are always cheerful and you can see how much they enjoy their jobs. The nursery is exceptionally well run and most importantly, the kids love being at Kiddlywinks. In fact we do a 20 mile trip each way so George can go to Kiddlywinks and I think that speaks for itself.” Sue.

“Professional, well trained nursery team who provide a stimulating environment that complements their caring and friendly nature. The learning resources are excellent, however the nursery team is what makes Kiddlywinks brilliant for young children.” Anna .

“Kiddlywinks nursery in my opinion is excellent. The ladies who look after my son are terrific and treat him as if he was their own, and my son loves it. The standard of the building, equipment and resources they have are second to none. The communication between staff and parents is brilliant, however busy they are they always have time to talk to me about what my son has done that day.” Kath .

    Training and Development

The governments vision is “for the early years workforce to be led by well-skilled and highly motivated professionals to improve and secure the best possible outcomes for all children within early years settings”. In order to achieve high standards we are committed to ensuring all our practitioners are given on-going opportunities to develop their knowledge and skills and reach their full potential consistently.

We are strongly committed to not only providing exciting and well resourced child focused environments but also to recruiting and retaining the best of the best, who are passionate, inspiring, motivational and who also have a thorough knowledge and understanding of how children learn.

Performance is reviewed on a regular basis through individual mentoring, meetings, on-going peer to peer observations, supervisory meetings for all staff ,and through annual appraisals.

Staff are encouraged to develop their roles through in-house training, accessing our online training academy and attending further professional training within the county or nationally. In response to the team’s commitment to professional development, the nursery has received a variety of National and County training awards.

All staff working within the nursery have been carefully selected through a rigorous selection process, any person working directly with the children at Kiddlywinks, including students have had DBS checks carried out to ensure they are suitable to work with children.

Key Person Roles and Parent Partnership

Your family is allocated a key person to help support you and your child during the settling in process and throughout your child’s time with us at Kiddlywinks.
The aim of the EYFS is to ensure that every child is provided with purposeful opportunities to extend their learning through high quality meaningful play experiences. Your child’s key person will do their utmost to develop and secure a trusting, empathetic and nurturing relationship with your child so that they have as much or as little support as they require in order to be happy, confident and to become empowered learners.

Our partnership with our parents and extended families is vital to securing positive outcomes for all children who attend Kiddlywinks. We highly value and respect our parents as being the primary educators of their child and the people who know their child best. As a result, we are passionately committed to developing and maintaining strong parent partnerships with all of our families. Your child’s key person and the nursery team will work closely with you and your child throughout your time at Kiddlywinks and their aim is to establish close professional working partnerships that will encourage information sharing and support children’s learning both in the nursery and at home. Our established shared learning portal enables parents to securely log-on to view and contribute to their child’s on-going learning journey.

In nursery your child’s key person will work with the team in planning experiences based on your child’s unique interests and individual stage of development. Their goal is to plan for and provide meaningful play- based learning opportunities that will support your child in thinking critically, being a motivated and active learner and an engaged and confident explorer. These characteristics are believed to be the key to effective learning and ones that we aim to nurture within all children and babies who attend Kiddlywinks.

Your key person will collect evidence of the children’s learning and development and use this for a basis of recording and assessing the children’s progress. We encourage Parents/Carers to join in with sharing their observations and knowledge of their child’s on-going learning and development through a wide range of information sharing tools and this includes informal and formal discussions. Staff will encourage parents to plan opportunities to further extend children’s development and support interests at nursery and home and we welcome parental contributions and ideas that could extend children’s learning and development at Kiddlywinks.

Every child who attends Kiddlywinks will have a learning journey story book which is a compilation of observations, photographs, samples of work and children’s amazing creations. We encourage parents and children to contribute to these and you are welcome to view your child’s book at any time to celebrate and take pride in your child’s amazing learning journey and on-going achievements.

If your child is to attend several settings, including a child-minder, the Kiddlywinks team are keen to work closely with the other provider to ensure the needs of the child are fully met through a coherent approach by sharing information. Please let us know of any other setting that your child attends and we will do our utmost in forging a shared learning partnership which is coherent and consistent in meeting your child’s needs.
